Well, you'll have to forgive me for not having a true identity to this blog- it's kindof a mix of my rants and rambles along with updates on our family. Today is more of an update- i'm sure i'll have more of a ramble soon if you prefer those :)
When we hiked last summer it was always a fiasco. Bear only ever wanted to walk in circles or explore a square foot of grass more than actually hike. There was no way he wanted you to carry him either which meant hiking was more of a slow meander through open space rather than us going anywhere.
This spring has been a totally different story. Not only does he walk in one direction it is almost impossible to get him to go home. Last week we had to trick him into walking back to the car by walking a different trail and yesterday we had to bribe him with his favorite movie. If he didn't have such a good sense of direction it probably wouldn't be so hard to get him to go back. The second you start heading in the general direction of the car he sprints the other way.
Here's some pictures of our hikes around the Denver Foothills- Lair o' the Bear and White Ranch Open Space (both in Jefferson County).
We're looking forward to trying out some fourteeners as soon as the snow melts and I can find hiking shoes in a size infant 9.
