Yesterday we decided to make some bird snacks- it seemed to make the dreary weather a little bit more exciting. I found some different recipes here:

We adapted the recipe a bit. We used:
about a cup of peanut butter
about a cup of bird seed
1/2 cup of oats
handful of dried fruit
mix up in a bowl and put in muffin tins. freeze until solid. wrap some string around and hang outside.
*note- after we made the snacks, i read that peanut butter may not be the best thing for birds. hopefully we aren't killing off our entire local population but if anyone has any better recipes, they are more than welcome!
